Upper Unproblematic Reading Resources

A fan of books in a serial, my children's favorite things to read and mind to are the stories that continue going! Knowing this, I make sure the books my kids' love are included in our homeschool curriculum. Gary Paulson's Hatchet series, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Wings of Fire, Percy Jackson, and all things Rick Riordan are his favorites. We read together and independently. Family read-alouds happen daily. Equally my children get older, they accept turns reading out loud, and our conversations about the books go deeper. I'k a believer that the best reading curriculum consists of reading and talking about good books. And past expert, I hateful books that capture our child'south interest, imagination, and curiosity. Good books speak to them. You'll know when they notice them.

Unless the child asks you lot to give them a nudge, pushing rarely goes well. What I plant is similar reading, my kids didn't demand to be told when or what to write, they needed people to write with them.

We started writing together and they joined creative writing circles. I likewise found writing that has a purpose, other than just learning, is important. Both of my kids are motivated to write emails to friends, create plans for a lodge, write give thanks-yous to his grandparents, create blog posts, write Minecraft stories, and use writing to create Youtube videos. Life Skills

One of the about important "subjects," I think, is life skills. While my eye wants to keep my children abode with me forever, one of my jobs as their mom is to make sure when they head out on their own they have the noesis and skills to do and so. We all knew that person in higher who didn't know how to utilize a washing machine. Knowing how to do laundry is of import, but I think life skills definitely go beyond clean clothes. Being a leader, managing time, budgeting, cooking, and working as a team are all skills we practice often.
